Biography

Efthymios Flourentzou was born in 1955 in Yialousa, Cyprus. In 1973, he commenced his legal studies at the Law Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, graduating in 1978. He became a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 1980 and practised law for many years with great distinction.

In 2011, Mr. Flourentzou founded E. Flourentzou & Co LLC, having previously been a co-founder of another legal firm. Throughout his career, he specialised in corporate, intellectual property, and criminal law, representing clients both in and out of Court in numerous high-profile and complex cases.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Flourentzou served for eight years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Electricity Authority. He also maintained an active presence in public and political life, publishing articles on legal and political matters in various newspapers.

Mr. Flourentzou was appointed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus as Minister of Communications and Works and assumed office on 5 August 2011. In 2013 he returned to the office until 2018.

Since 2018, Mr. Flourentzou has retired following a long and highly successful legal career.
